Defence Ministry regrets attack on disabled soldiers

The Defence Ministry today expressed regret over the attack on disabled soldiers who staged a protest near the Presidential Secretariat recently.State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene said that political forces working against the Government must take responsibility for the incident. The police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the disabled soldiers who protested near the Presidential Secretariat demanding pension.Wijewardene said the disabled soldiers were used to meet the political goals of some elements.
